Tributes and Memorials
You can make a special contribution to support the Library in tribute or memory of someone you admire, respect, or want to remember in a meaningful way. Gifts in any amount are welcome and will be used to support the Library's crucial work to promote reading, education and a literate San Diego.
We will send you a receipt to acknowledge your tax deductible donation, and send a letter to the family to inform them of your thoughtful gift. You contribution also will be acknowledged in the Library's quarterly Check Us Out newsletter.
"What better way to honor someone?"
Leslie Beebe made a contribution to the San Diego Public Library Foundation in remembrance of her grandmothers, two women who believed in libraries. Both of Leslie's grandmothers, Effie Graham and Margaret Beebe, died ten years before Leslie was born. However, she feels a real connection to them both, and was moved to honor them with a gift.
“My grandmothers did so much good for their community that it inspired me to do something good for my community. My hope is that by donating to the library in honor of my grandmothers, others might do so as well. What better way to honor someone, than by giving back to the community?”
