Partnership Opportunities
High visibility, new markets and employee retention are some of the benefits of sponsoring a San Diego Public Library program or event. Last year, more than 6.2 million visits were logged at city libraries and nearly 190,000 people attended free programs. The Library offers multiple options to build recognition for those considering sponsorships. For more information about sponsorship opportunities and benefits, call 619-238-6638 or e-mail office@supportmylibrary.org.

Got Homework? We’ve Got Help! – Resources for Student Success -- All libraries offer special areas where children can find books and resources to help with homework assignments and research projects. The Library also offers a wealth of free online resources such as Live Homework Help with information to meet grade level curriculum standards.
Summer Reading Program -- For 87 years, the Summer Reading Program has encouraged more than one million children to keep reading and learning during the summer months. This past summer, more than 31,000 children and teens signed up and attended 1,100 fun and educational programs at libraries citywide.
Children’s Collections -- Children’s books are literally “loved to death” at the library. The most popular titles, like Goodnight Moon, The Very Hungry Catapillar or Harry Potter are read again and again and therefore need to be replaced regularly. By sponsoring Children’s Collections you will help ensure that the most popular titles are always available.
Isabel Schon International Center for Spanish Books for Youth -- The Isabel Schon Center is the world's largest collection of Spanish-Language literature for children and teens. A circulating library, the collection is hand picked by Dr. Isabel Schon, an internationally respected expert in this field.
One Book, One San Diego -- In partnership with KPBS, the Library brings San Diego together to read and discuss the same book. In ts fifth year in 2011, One Book, One San Diego features author events, book discussions and community events to explore the themes presented in the selected book.
READ/San Diego & Families for Literacy -- San Diego Public Library's adult literacy program coordinates the efforts of volunteer reading tutors to assist more than 1,000 adult students from various backgrounds and learning levels. Under the umbrella of READ/San Diego, Families for Literacy helps low-literate parents, grandparents and caregivers learn how to read to their children, and gives them free children’s books so that at-home libraries can be created.
Cultural Programming -- The Library is San Diego's largest provider of free arts and cultural programming with more than 7,200 cultural and educational events each year. City libraries are places to gather, hear great music and see vibrant artwork—all of which are open to the public and offered free of charge.
