Diane Ackerman offers welcome to Open Book, One San Diego
In a recent visit to San Diego, Diane Ackerman, the author of the 2009 One Book, One San Diego selected title The Zookeeper's Wife, recorded a welcome for the upcoming community reading initiative.
"I look forward to coming to San Diego and talking with everyone more about the various themes in the book like passion, courage and tolerance," Ackerman said. She return to San Diego in early 2009 for a series of public events to kick off One Book, One San Diego. Visit here to hear Ackerman's welcome.
The San Diego Public Library presents One Book, One San Diego In partnership with KPBS. The program brings San Diego together to read and discuss each year. Entering its third year in 2009, the program will feature author events, book discussions at libraries and other in-library events to discuss themes discussed in the featured book.
