Generous Donor Brings Sunday Hours to City Heights

July 13, 2011

Thanks to a $40,000 grant from the Price Family Charitable Fund, the City Heights/Weingart Branch Library & Performance Annex will now be open on Sundays from 1 to 5. The fund is a private family foundation established by Helen and Sol Price in 1983.

“We appreciate Price Charities for stepping up to the plate with this donation,” said San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders. “It is through partnerships like this one that the City is able to leverage its limited assets and provide our neighborhoods with the resources they need.”

"We are so grateful to the Price Family Charitable Fund for their generous donation,” said Deborah Barrow, San Diego Public Library Director. ”We are especially pleased that the Sunday hours are beginning during the extremely popular Summer Reading Program, which is critically important for students in helping them retain their literacy skills through the summer months.
