Dr. Irwin Jacobs discusses New Central Library project

QUALCOMM Founder Dr. Irwin Jacobs recently appeared on KPBS' San Diego Week to discuss he and his wife Joan's support of the New Central Library.
“We’re always favoring helping through education. I still remember in New Bedford, Mass. going on a street car down to the library once a week to take out a pile of books," said Dr. Jacobs at the groundbreaking ceremony. “Those memories are very special.
"Now, even with the digital media, it still is a wonderful experience to go in the library and see everybody thinking together and occasionally asking questions and discussing issues. So, I suspect that will in fact be a great use for this library.”
