San Diegan's Love of Books Leads to Library Tour
Local book lover and blogger Michelle Panik is making a City-wide tour of San Diego Public Libraries this summer and detailing her experiences in her blog The Stray Carrier Pigeon. Panik, who is about half way through her library tour, visits a branch a day and ranks each on book selection, seating, staff and architecture/atmosphere--with a one to three bookmark ranking system. She also discusses a new book she checks out at each branch and her experiences speaking with staff.
She notes that she conducted her whirlwind tour "in an effort to better know my city, to encourage literacy, and to support our fantastic library system."
