Proceeds from the elegant Silk and Spice Jewel Ball on August 8 will help support Library programs. The San Diego Public Library Foundation was selected as one of the charities to benefit this year from the prestigious event.
Since 1946, the all-volunteer members of Las Patronas have used the Jewel Ball to support San Diego's nonprofits. Las Patronas support will help supply audio visual equipment and computers for the new Logan Heights Branch Library, scheduled to open this fall.
“Las Patronas has a lengthy major philanthropic history of supporting causes that improve the quality of life for all San Diegans,” said San Diego Public Library Foundation chair Judith Harris. “The San Diego Public Library Foundation is proud to be included in this list. Their endorsement helps insure our continuing ability to create, steward, and support an excellent free public library system for all citizens. Free access to the tools to succeed is the first step in a healthy productive life.”
